A system of springs, shock absorbers, joints and torsion bars that connects a vehicle to its wheels. A successful suspension system must strike a balance between keeping the wheels in constant contact with the road, thereby improving control, traction and handling, and keeping the occupants comfortable and well isolated from road noise, bumps and vibrations. The design of front and rear suspension of a car may be different.
